KATIE KERMOND


Katie Kermond has had a noteworthy career in Australian Musical Theatre.

 

Her first major productions were West Side Story and Camelot followed  by La Cage Aux Follies, Guys and Dolls, Evita and Sugar Babies. Her comprehensive dance and comic skills have kept her in demand going on to appear as Cha Cha in Grease, a national tour of Jerry’s Girls, Chicago and Singing’ in the Rain.


On television Katie has appeared in the mini-series Three Men and a Baby Grand and The Last Resort, both for the ABC, and appeared in the Cannes Festival Award winning feature film The Goddess of 1967.

 

Creatively Katie has written and preformed her own stand-up comedy, appearing regularly at Sydney’s Comedy Store, as well as the Women’s Comedy Festival at The Belvoir St Theatre, and the Standouts season at The Melbourne Comedy Festival.

 

Katie has received her A.R.A.D – Advanced Royal Academy of Dance, London. She has also studied internationally in London and New York.


Katie has discovered the pleasure of teaching her craft, and tutor’s at NIDA and Central Queensland Uni.

 

Over the last 8 years Katie has produced Entertainment for a number of  major Corporate Events including the Singapore Business Awards, World Energy Congress and Amway China.

 

Her first love is Theatre and her goal to produce all Australian performances that showcase our amazing local talent – she achieved this when she produced the awarding winning  Jive Junkys (Pick of the Fringe Award, Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2000) and again now with Candy Man.

 

She is married to Wayne Scott Kermond (who she met in her first show – West Side Story) and they have a son Alexander.
