VERONICA BEATTIE

Sydney born Veronica completed her certificate in Performing arts at David Atkins' Dynamite Dance Studios in 1996 and has since enjoyed a successful and versatile career in entertainment.

In a ten year period, Veronica has amassed an impressive repertoire in musical theatre, enabling her to showcase her "classic" style. In 2006, Veronica had the pleasure of performing in the Australian Production of The Boy From Oz starring Hugh Jackman reprising his Tony award winning role. Veronica has also performed in Graham Murphy's Tivoli with the Sydney Dance Company, and the Brisbane season of the hit musical The Wizard of Oz. Not once but twice Veronica was called upon to perform in Grease; where she toured Australia and New Zealand in the original tour of Grease - the Arena Spectacular in 1998, then again in 2005 where she was also Dance Captain. Her love of the more stylised musical pieces was realised when she was honoured to kick up her heels for Baz Lurhman as the Tatooed can-can dancer in the Feature Film – Moulin Rouge. In addition, prior to filming Veronica enjoyed being part of the workshop team.

Outside of theatre performance Veronica has toured extensively for many corporate events and product launches. The demand for her as a commercial dancer has seen her perform on The Midday Show, and work for Choreographer/Directors such as: John O’Connell, Richard Wherrett, William A Forsythe, Keith Hawley, Kelley Abbey, Ross Coleman and most recently assisting Juliette Verne on So You think you can Dance. Thrilled to be asked to co-choreograph Candy Man with the original cast, Veronica has since choreographed for the Sydney launch of Girls Night In, Fashion on the Court Australian Open, Choice Mortgage Awards and her own cabaret revue What is Jazz.

Veronica’s performance history with Wayne Scott Kermond extends back to when she performed at Jupiter's Casino in Rhonda Burchmore’s Fever for the "Live at the J" series, where Wayne Scott Kermond appeared as a guest artist, most recently Veronica performed with Wayne in Guys and Dolls. She is extremely honoured to be supporting Wayne in Candy Man and helping to showcase a great Australian talent.
